Styling a palette of rich plum with Sheridan and Home Beautiful Magazine

Rich, full-bodied and beautiful, this season we’ve immersed ourselves in sensuous plum. To celebrate this vibrant tone, we’ve collaborated with Home Beautiful magazine to produce a styling video which showcases three ways to style this statement hue.

As the days get shorter and the weather begins to cool, plum, our key seasonal colour, takes centre stage. The perfect accompaniment to a neutral base, this decadent hue works equally well layered with levels of colour. To help you update your home with lashings of plum, we’ve partnered with Home Beautiful magazine, producing a styling video sure to leave you colour-confident. Learn how to style your home with plum using these simple tips.

Accessorise with a hint of plum.

Add depth and drama to your interiors space with a hint of plum. A selection of rich, purple-toned accessories will make a neutral canvas pop. Think luxurious velvet Emington Cushions teamed with an open weave Kemerton Linen Throw. Or opt for a couple of knitted Haden Cushions to warm up a cool grey sofa. Remember to keep the palette simple and accessories to a minimum to let the colour shine.

Immerse your room in all-over colour.

For the truly colour-confident, opt for saturated levels of this high-impact hue. The secret is layering, with piles of plump cushions in contrasting textures of plum. Start with a quilted velvet Emington Cushion then pair with the decadent Mongolian lambswool of Bligh. Mix up your tones with the soft cotton texture of Surrey, with its versatile two-tone finish, before finishing with a sumptuous knitted Haden Throw. Consider variations in scale with a cosy Haden European pillow, perfect to curl up with when the weather cools.

Pair plum with textured neutrals.

Freshen up neutral accessories with pops of vibrant plum. Plum loves texture, so opt for the fluffy Mongolian lambswool of our Bligh Cushion in soft fog grey, and partner with its deep purple counterpart.

Introduce new shapes for your lounge in relaxed slub linen. Style the Alena Breakfast Cushion and Linen Throw in pale wicker with a scattering of bold plum highlights. Contrasting rich, warm textures is key. A knitted Earley Cushion paired with a sumptuous leather Ryeburn and a soft lambswool Benedict Throw make for the perfect neutral base. Simply add a velvet Emington Cushion and a linen Kemerton Throw in tones of deepest plum for a warm and inviting lounge room setting.

Brighten a dark palette with plum.

Warm up muted tones of carbon and midnight with a splash of lively plum. A pile of soft cushions or a cosy knitted throw will add instant warmth and energy to your bedroom setting. Start with the deep grey tones of the Nashe Quilt Cover or the soothing midnight blue of Abbotson Linen as your base. Build up layers of colour with an oversized Haden European Pillowcase, a two-tone Surrey Cushion and the soft and fluffy texture of Bligh. Finish by tossing a textured linen Kemerton Throw across the bed for a relaxed, contemporary look.
